Essential Functions of the Job
As an Associate/Senior Associate, the candidate will be part of a team that commits to the highest degree of flexibility and adaptability in the advisory profession to help clients recognize and resolve their business issues. Subject to his or her field of expertise and future growth, the candidate will participate in:

  • Undertaking project tasks, including but not limited to market research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, recommendation development, design and implementation of proposed business plan, etc.
  • Interacting with clients at various stages of the projects to understand their business problems and deliver the corresponding advisory services that will best achieve the clients’ objectives
  • Supporting senior staffs in business development opportunities and other thought leadership initiatives towards internal and external stakeholders

Competencies

Technical knowledge & problem-solving capabilities

  • Detailed understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Quantitative data analysis for standard working capital elements such as inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.
  • Familiarity with or competence in the underlying aspects relevant to the field of expertise, such as supply chain planning, warehouse and logistics, material/information flow, treasury functions, debt management, legal compliance, etc.
  • Ability to critically review data and information, including but not limited to financial statements, business models, notes to accounts, working capital related line items, processes and procedures, etc.
  • Proficiency in analytics: data collection, analysis, and visualization for reports
  • Familiarity with research tools and database

Awareness of services that the practice provides and support in Brand Building

  • Network with other business units and lines of service within the firm to gain understanding of opportunities/issues that may impact future clients
  • Assist senior leadership in ideation and pitch preparation, marketing materials, credentials
  • Assist senior leadership in ideation and preparation of material for stakeholder outreach, such as forums, conferences, newsletters, other thought leadership initiatives, etc

Develops Commercial Acumen and build rapport

  • Bring value to the client and manager by applying this knowledge in delivering solutions to clients
  • Develop client business knowledge
  • Help articulate the service offerings to local clients
  • Abreast with emerging business trends through reports/newspaper and thought leadership initiatives from competitors
  • Develop rapport with the middle & senior levels of client management
  • An inquisitive, opportunity-oriented mindset

Knowledge Sharing

  • Contribute information to knowledge sharing tools
  • Share knowledge & experiences with others via formal & informal methods
  • Support knowledge sharing initiatives within the team and the firm

Adherence to standard

  • Ensure necessary compliance of standard deliverables in a consistent manner
  • Ensure compliance with standard good practices for quality control and efficient execution of the projects
  • Application and adherence to the standardized work documents &tools (such as STP, pitch, transaction documents, report templates, models, etc.)

Project Management

  • Set realistic deadlines and objectives for prompt fulfilment.
  • Consistently complete work on time.
  • Follow through and wrap up loose ends.
  • Keep others informed of status and activities

Job Requirements

Education: A post-graduate degree in management (emphasis in Operations and/or business development preferred) or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

  • Conversant in English and Vietnamese (Mandatory) and Japanese/Mandarin/Cantonese/Korean (preferable)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong business/commercial acumen and an understanding of major industry sector trends preferred
  • Proven ability to work and influence cross-functionally and geographically and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and departments
  • Experience in being part of client-focused advisory solutions
