Event Marketing Manager

Woof Walkies Northampton event is Northampton's first-ever virtual Woof Walkies fundraising event in aid of Cancer Research UK. This is my big project, part of my assignment for my final year.

As an Event Marketing Manager, I am responsible for these tasks:
- Planned and produced marketing plan, production schedule, sponsorship proposal, and poster for the event.
- Directly managed, created content, and designed templates for the event's Facebook and Instagram pages (https://www.instagram.com/woofwalkiesnorthampton/).
- Created and managed daily challenges on social media to engage with the customers as well as answered their enquiries about the event.
- Directly worked with external stakeholders such as clients, sponsors, supporting partners, and potential customers.

Achievements:
- Designed creative weekly challenges on social media: #triviatuesday and #favouritefriday which increased reach and engagement by 50% on Instagram and produced a post with 13.8K reach on Facebook.
- Designed all templates for the event week which attracted many potential participants.
- Raised nearly £1,500 with the organising team for the first-ever virtual Woof Walkies Northampton

Vietnamese Students Society (Vietsoc)

- Led and connected over 50 current Vietnamese students during their time in the UK (study, jobs, accommodation, travel).
- Conducted market research, planned and implemented event operations and logistics for a variety of the Society’s cultural and educational activities such as Welcome Party, Christmas Party, Lunar New Year event, ...
- Liaised closely with Vietnamese students, Students’ Union, UoN, SVUK and the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK.
- Directly managed the Facebook page by developing marketing strategies, creating new content, social media challenges and editing photos which helped increase post reach and engagement by 30% over 2 months.

Pay It Forward by Du học sinh Việt Nam

External Relations Manager

The project 'Pay It Forward (https://www.facebook.com/VN.PayItForward) was founded in 2020 during COVID-19 by Vietnamese students and alumni who are studying abroad around the world. The main idea of the project is to create workshops connecting mentors (study or live abroad) and mentees (students in Vietnam who are desired to go overseas) and use the money to raise funds to support the country during COVID-19.

I was selected to be the External Relations Manager, whose main responsibilities are conducting research about potential partners (sponsors, media, influencers,..), creating sponsorship packages, negotiating with them, and leading communications with them to developed marketing cooperation sponsorship, and content creation.

Student Ambassador

- Led on-site campus and town tours to 50 prospective students and their families while adapting to constantly changing situations.
- Assisted at virtual Open Days events using Unibuddy and Google Meet platforms.
- Effectively communicated to over 500 incoming students in various university events such as Open Days, Discovery Days and Interview Days with excellent customer service skills.

Northampton Hope Centre

Event Assistant

I volunteered for an event called 'Rock for Hope 2020' at The Old Savoy 'The Home of the Deco Theatre' in aid of Northampton Hope Centre. The event was a success with over 350 attendees with choirs from 5 primary schools in Northamptonshire. I was responsible for managing queues, taking photos, keeping the schedule of all performances on track and dealing with attendees' needs.

I volunteered for an event called 'Rock for Hope 2019' at Spinney Theatre at Northampton School for Girls to raise funds for Northampton Hope Centre with more than 270 attendees. I was responsible for cake selling, managing queues and dealing with attendees' needs.

Mighty Magnus Charity

Event Producer

As first-year students, my team created an event called Millennials Quiz Night at Avenue Campus. The goal of the event was to raise medicine funds for Mighty Magnus Charity. We had 30 attendees and over £160 profits for one night.

I was responsible for these tasks:
- Produced and managed the logistics plan, on-site production schedule and risk assessment.
- Directly worked with external stakeholders including venue manager, technical managers and guests.
- Designed posters and created marketing content on the Facebook page.

I work as an assistant in support of the university's events team to organize monthly Open Day to welcome new students to the university. I have learned how an event is managed and how unexpected problems are solved.

I am in charge of the media and public relations team to organize events and manage the social media page for the project called 'Panacea' - a branch of SEALNet Vietnam. My team members and I fundraised approximately £400 in total for 2 annual events.
